We recommend that you use a flooring contractor to install your rubber flooring tiles. For details of contractors in your area, please see our installer directory.

However, if you are competent at DIY, you may be able to install the flooring yourself. Please use these instructions as guidance in conjunction with your adhesive manufacturer's instructions. Results when using flooring from other companies or adhesives other than the G19 that we supply may differ.
  1. Ensure that the flooring is stored flat. Before laying the flooring, check that it is free of dust and dirt. Our flooring does occasionally get dusty in storage - a quick wipe with a dry cloth or duster should remove any dust. Check also that the floor surface is even, clean and dry. If the floor is not completely even, you should use sheets of plywood or a levelling screed to make it so. It is important to ensure that any new screeds or concrete slabs have dried out thoroughly - a moisture meter can be used to test dampness.
  2. Start by laying the flooring dry (without adhesive). This should ensure that you have sufficient flooring and you can confirm the location of cuts etc. before sticking the flooring down. It will also enable the flooring to acclimatise to the conditions. Don't make the cuts yet.
  3. When you are satisfied with the layout of the tiles, remove them. Mix your adhesive according to the manufacturers instructions.
  4. Working back towards the door, spread the adhesive as directed by the manufacturer in a strip just over a tile wide. Lay the first strip of tiles, ensuring that the top edges of the tiles are butted up against each other, and that the edges line up. Start by laying full tiles - when you reach a cut, measure carefully and cut with a sharp Stanley knife or similar. Each tile should be smoothed down from the centre outwards to ensure that there are no air bubbles present.
  5. Clean any adhesive spills or surface adhesive with a small amount of white spirit while they are still fresh.
  6. Continue in the same way with the second and subsequent rows. When you have finished laying the flooring, you should use a heavy roller to ensure that the joints are flat and well adhered.
  7. Do not walk on the floor for at least 12 hours.
